Role Overview:

We’re looking for a visionary Editorial Director to lead our content strategy across all platforms, with a core focus on space exploration, astrophysics, planets, and the universe. You will shape the voice, tone, and narrative of our content, ensuring it is consistently educational, aspirational, and mind-blowing. Key Responsibilities:

  • Editorial Leadership: Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary content team, setting the gold standard for factual storytelling across formats.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the editorial authority on space science, bringing depth, accuracy, and wonder to all content. Translate complex astrophysical concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Platform Innovation: Drive experimentation across formats and platforms—leveraging trends, technologies, and audience behaviors to stay ahead of the curve.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across creative, production, marketing, and partnerships to ensure editorial excellence and consistency.
  • Standards & Integrity: Uphold rigorous editorial standards, ensuring factual accuracy, inclusivity, and scientific credibility.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in content creation, editorial leadership, or journalism—preferably in science, education, or factual entertainment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in space exploration, astrophysics, and planetary science; ability to lead with authority in these subject areas.
  • Proven success in developing and scaling multiplatform content strategies, particularly for digital video, social media, and CTV.
  • Inspirational leader with experience managing creative teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong storytelling instincts and editorial judgment; ability to balance scientific rigor with entertainment value.
  • Passion for educating and inspiring mass audiences through factual storytelling.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with animation or visual effects related to space content.
  • Background in academic science communication or public engagement.
  • Familiarity with platform analytics and audience insights.
