Senior Strategist
Reports to: Strategic Lead
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Strategist to play a central role in strengthening our agency’s strategic capability. This is a leadership-focused position responsible for shaping how we approach customer marketing, guiding commercial decisions, and connecting insight, data, and creativity to deliver measurable results.
The successful candidate will work closely with sector teams to ensure our clients benefit from rigorous, commercially grounded strategies. This role will also involve establishing best-practice standards, processes, and tools that will underpin the growth of the strategy function over time.
Key Responsibilities
Define and Advocate the Agency’s Strategic Approach

Establish a clear strategic framework for the agency, highlighting our differentiators and demonstrating how strategy drives business outcomes.

Ensure consistency in the use of strategic thinking across client projects, internal processes, and new business opportunities.

Act as a visible champion of strategic thinking internally, raising understanding and confidence in the value of strategy.
Lead Client Strategy

Develop customer strategies that turn business goals into actionable plans and measurable results.

Enable Creativity through Strategic Clarity

Produce concise, high-quality briefs that give creative teams direction and confidence while leaving room for innovation.

Challenge and refine client briefs where necessary to ensure they are insight-driven.

Collaborate with data and creative teams to make sure customer journeys and touchpoints meet the agency’s strategic standards.
Drive Insight-Led Planning and Business Impact

Work with analytics teams to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

Identify opportunities to improve targeting, optimization, and customer experience.

Ensure strategy consistently aligns with commercial outcomes and guides investment decisions.
Support New Business Efforts

Lead the strategic component of pitches, structuring the story and demonstrating clear customer logic.

Present the agency’s strategic approach persuasively to increase success in new business.
Build and Strengthen the Strategy Function

Develop tools, templates, and best practices to support a high-performing strategy team.

Mentor account teams to improve upstream thinking and enhance the quality of client briefs.

Generate demand for strategic services, supporting future growth of the function.
Collaborate Effectively Across Teams

Partner with sector leads, creative, data, and delivery teams to ensure strategy is executed successfully.

Contribute to client documentation, schedules, and strategic processes as required.

Experience and Background

Minimum of eight years in a leading data-driven communications or CRM agency at a senior strategist level.

Demonstrable experience in developing commercially meaningful, insight-led customer strategies.

Proven ability to write compelling briefs and design journeys that influence creative direction.

Strong experience influencing senior client stakeholders.

Track record of contributing to successful pitches and new business wins.
