We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced eCommerce Strategy Director to join our client, a dynamic social media digital marketing agency. As an eCommerce Strategy Director, you will play a crucial role in providing thought leadership to develop and execute end-to-end eCommerce strategies for consumers, encompassing DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) channels, eCommerce technology, pure players / marketplaces, and social commerce.


  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, target audience, and competitive landscape. Develop comprehensive eCommerce strategies aligned with their goals, utilizing DTC, eCommerce tech, marketplaces, and social commerce.
  • Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for all things eCommerce for clients, building strong relationships and understanding their specific needs. Provide expert advice and guidance on eCommerce best practices, industry trends, and innovative solutions.
  • End-to-End Execution: Oversee the implementation of eCommerce strategies, ensuring seamless integration across multiple platforms and channels. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and marketers, to deliver exceptional eCommerce experiences.
  • Data-Driven Analysis: Utilise data / analytics tools and platforms to gather insights and evaluate the effectiveness of eCommerce strategies. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make data-driven recommendations to optimize conversion rates, customer engagement, and ROI.
  • Emerging Technologies: Stay up-to-date with an champion the latest developments in eCommerce technology, marketplaces, and social commerce. Identify new opportunities and innovative solutions to drive growth and enhance the consumer experience.
  • Thought Leadership: Act as an internal and external subject matter expert on eCommerce strategies. Conduct industry research, contribute to whitepapers, and present at industry conferences to showcase the agency’s expertise in eCommerce.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful eCommerce strategies, preferably within a social media digital marketing agency or related industry.
  • Deep understanding of DTC, eCommerce technology, marketplaces, and social commerce.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in data, analytics tools, eCommerce platforms, and content management systems.
