Managing Director of eCommerce, CX, Technology Platforms and Strategy

Position Overview:

As the Managing Director of eCommerce CX Technology Platforms and Strategy, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of innovative strategies to drive the growth and success of our client’s eCommerce capabilities. A background in technology leadership and, business transformation in the eCommerce space is vital. Leveraging your expertise in various commerce technologies and platforms, you will spearhead digital and business transformation initiatives to drive innovation for our client’s business. This role requires a visionary leader who can effectively navigate the complexities of the digital landscape and translate insights into actionable strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive eCommerce tech and platform solutions by creating solid strategies aligned with the solving business problems. overall objectives and market trends.
  • Identify emerging technologies and platforms to capitalize on opportunities to drive growth and generate effective results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of eCommerce initiatives with other business functions.

Technical Expertise – Platform and Tech Evaluation and Selection:

  • Knowledge and expertise of different CX strategies, commerce, digital technologies and platforms to determine the most suitable solutions for our client’s organisational and business needs.
  • Comfortable presenting to internal and external stakeholders in a compelling manner in order to win their buy in on your recommendations.
  • Stay ahead of industry developments and best practices to inform decision-making regarding technology investments.
  • The ability to articulate to senior clients that most appropriate technology and business strategies.

Digital Transformation:

  • Lead digital and business transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing and creating change in our client’s business and revolutionising the way they interact with and reach consumers
  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, fostering an environment conducive to experimentation and groundbreaking work for clients.
  • Drive organizational change management initiatives to ensure seamless adoption of new technologies and processes.

New Business and Pitching:

  • Comfortable leading and participating in new business pitches with compelling narratives on why clients should work with us and how we can solve their business problems, showcasing the agencies unique value proposition.
  • Identify new strategic partnerships and collaboration opportunities to expand the company’s eCommerce footprint and reach new markets to the betterment of existing and new clients.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including technology providers, industry associations, and regulatory bodies, to drive collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of eCommerce technology and delivery professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, facilitating their professional growth and development.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion within the team, ensuring a supportive and inclusive work environment for all employees.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement robust risk management protocols to mitigate cybersecurity threats, data breaches, and other potential vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards governing eCommerce operations, including data privacy and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any legal or regulatory issues related to eCommerce activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles within eCommerce, digital technology, consultancy and digital transformation space
  • Industry leading technical knowledge in eCommerce, web technologies, software development and platforms
  • Extensive experience in evaluating, selecting, and implementing eCommerce technologies and platforms, with a deep understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
  • Strong strategic planning and business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute compelling eCommerce strategies that drive tangible business results.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
