About the Role:

Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing independent digital marketing agency group grabbing headlines for their innovative work and client wins. Our client is seeking an accomplished Group Finance Director to lead their financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on finance professional with a proven track record in the digital marketing or creative agency sector.

You will currently operate as a Group Finance Director or equivalent in the media sector. Please note: we cannot consider candidates out of the sector due to the complexities of the role which requires deep knowledge of marketing agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the group’s growth and operational objectives.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to the leadership team to guide decision-making and drive profitability.
  • Manage and mentor a finance team of 10–15 professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Oversee process and operational structure and implement improvements to drive good operational health of the business and scalability to support the group’s rapid growth trajectory.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain robust internal controls.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risk, presenting clear and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand and support the agency’s objectives within the advertising ecosystem.

Qualifications, Experience, and Candidate Profile:

  • ACA or CIMA qualified, with previous experience as a management accountant.
  • Extensive experience in financial leadership roles within digital marketing or creative agency environments.
  • Proven success in fast-growing, scale-up organizations, with the ability to thrive in dynamic ever-evolving businesses
  • Gravitas and credibility in terms of finance and people leadership
  • Strong understanding of the digital marketing and advertising landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams of 10–15 people effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
